Childhood Friendship and Bond of Zach-Dax
Zach and Dax have been friends since they were eight years old, and their close friendship dates back to their early years. Zach and Dax were on opposing basketball teams as well as different football teams when they were kids.
In a prior interview, Dax explained to The Salt Lake Tribune that he simply respected Zach because of how fierce of a rival he was when discussing how they came to be friends. And once they joined the same squad, they both gradually developed a sense of brotherhood which led to a friendship between the two.
Later in life, when they both joined the NFL and attended the same institution, their close connection persisted. When they began playing collegiate football together at Brigham Young University, Zach and Dax once more came into contact with one another professionally. The two shared a dorm and were teammates for three years in college. Zach claimed in the same article from The Salt Lake Tribune that he attempted to get Dax and another friend to drop out of BYU and look into alternative colleges. In February 2022, the two BYU teammates reconnected at the Marriott Center to see BYU play Gonzaga in basketball.

Following rumors that Dax was dating Zach’s ex Abbey Gile, social media users began to focus on Zach and Dax’s bond. Abbey is a member of the Utah Valley University dance team and is a student there right now.
